introduction

The Franciscan Friars of Mary Immaculate (O.F.M.I. - Ordinis Franciscanorum Mariae Immaculatae) is an association following the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi in the Rule of 1223 and the Marian theology of St. Maximilian Kolbe, making the community as much Marian as it is Franciscan. Founded in 1984 by Fr. David Przedwiecki, the association does not yet have canonical approval and is still seeking recognition from a Roman Catholic bishop.

The City of Mary is a 74 acre area of farm, field and woodland owned by City of Mary, Mount Morris, INC. where the Franciscan Friars of Mary Immaculate live, pray and work. Established in 1992 and located in Mount Morris, Michigan, only a couple of miles from Flint, the area is agricultural with many people growing crops or raising farm animals.
